How Overhead Works

Why 10% matters.

Most nonprofits spend 20–35% of every dollar on administrative costs before any money reaches the cause. Bama Fundravers operates on just 10% overhead — meaning 90 cents of every dollar you give goes directly to the mission. Here's how that stacks up:

To the cause
Bama Fundravers
90%

Our model keeps costs lean by design — no building leases, no paid staff, no middlemen. 90 cents of every dollar reaches the mission directly.

Nonprofit average
Typical Nonprofit
72%

The average nonprofit directs roughly 72 cents per dollar to its cause, with 28% going to overhead and administrative costs.

Sector low end
Some Charities
65%

Some well-known fundraising organizations direct as little as 65% of donations to the actual cause — 35% going to overhead.

Where does the 10% go? Operational costs only: equipment maintenance, software subscriptions, insurance, and the small logistics that keep events running smoothly. Nothing goes to personal pay — ever. Full breakdowns are posted publicly on Instagram after every event.

The floor doesn't lie.

When the music moves, so does the money. Don't take our word for it.

[They] killed it. Genuinely one of the rowdiest crowds I've seen at Shed in a minute. Bama Fundravers turned an ordinary night into something unforgettable, and they did it all while raising money for a great cause. That's what makes them special.
The Red Shed — @theredshedbar · Tuscaloosa, AL
By far our most successful fundraiser of the year. Partnering with Bama Fundravers was an incredible experience — their passion, professionalism, and dedication to making an impact were evident from day one. Thanks to their hard work, we were able to raise the funds needed to send our volunteers to India!
UA Friends of MSF — Doctors Without Borders Fundraiser
Having The Fundravers at our Moms Weekend was the highlight of the night! What really stood out was how much they cared about our philanthropy. It's rare to find DJs who are not only talented, but passionate about making a difference. We're so thankful we got to partner with them.
Auburn Delta Zeta — Heart for Hearing & Speech
After the shooting at FSU, Bama Fundravers rallied their community and, in just four days, held a fundraiser to support us. It wasn't just the donation that meant so much, but knowing people hundreds of miles away cared enough to act so quickly. Their music brought hope when we needed it most.
